Encounter Worship 2007/2008

Worship is an important part of Encounter. At Encounter we believe it is important to find the right balance between worship and word and that when brought together in the right way we can create an environment where everyone can enter in and be brought to a place where God can impact in a very real way.

We are very blessed with some very committed and talented people on the Encounter worship team and we hope that Encounter worship blog can develop into a place where we can keep each other up to date on what’s happening. A place where we can share thoughts and ideas with each other with the aim of continually improving our Friday night worship and also help us take that further and make our daily lives an act of worship.

This year the Encounter worship team consists of 3 groups or bands that will, in general, play 2 weeks in a row and then have the next 4 weeks free. However, for 07/08 we have introduced a prayer night that will happen once a month. This means the rota will not be as clear-cut as last year. The rota aims to enable time to practise between slots if desired, but also to ensure we all have time to recharge both spiritually and physically. So hopefully the effort will be shared, preventing people from running themselves into the ground.

So far this year we have seen worship at Encounter mature in many ways. The introduction of dedicated prayer nights that consist of directed and free prayer using specially designed prayer zones have also been well received.

Rota
The rota is posted on the ‘Rota 07/08′ section of the site so that people can find out when they are playing. Also on a weekly basis the song list from Friday nights will be ‘blogged’ so that everyone can keep a track on what songs have been done, what songs are over done and if any of the new songs need to be taught or introduced etc. The song listings can be found by accessing the archive for the month that you want to view.
